Lovely trail run at MacRitchie Reservoir Park.  Lake views, boardwalks, lizards, monkeys (though I'm scared of them now), lots of rocky trail, a TreeTop suspension bridge (beautiful views!), lots of steep uphill and stairs.  Just me and my audio book - it was great.

TT: 1:30:42  AP: 12:58  (I should probably just count this as 6 because mile 4 on the suspension bridge was pretty much all walking, but oh well)

Splits: 11:35, 11:36, 12:18, 20:44, 11:04, 12:06, 11:19

This was super hard but also amazing.

7am, 5 miles, 1 big loop and 1 little loop.  It was really hard to get moving this morning.  It never just rains here, it POURS, and the 5th mile it POURED on me along with some thunder and lightning.  So I ran as fast as I could home (which is not very fast these days!)!

Splits: 11:29 (126), 10:42 (132), 9:59 (136), 10:16 (139), 9:29 (142)

AM - 6:30am, 4.07 miles, so sluggish.  Did 4 400's around the track with 400 recovery in between.  Wanted to do more but had an early morning and just felt kind of blah (as I do during most morning runs, I just can't seem to force myself to be a morning person).

TT:  40:25  AP: 9:57   AHR: 130

400 Splits: 2:16 (132), 2:14 (137), 2:09 (142), 2:05 (146)

PM - 6:00pm, since this morning's run was so blah I decided to head out for more.  Was feeling good this evening!  Pretty much repeated this morning's workout.  It felt good to run as hard as I could and know it was okay to stop whenever I was tired (since I'd already done the miles in the morning).  3.5 miles, 4 more 400's at the track, much faster!

TT: 31:48   AP: 9:06  AHR: 145

400 Splits: 1:58 (151), 1:55 (159), 1:55 (164), 1:52 (165)

Was so tired at the end and it was really difficult to recover for the last 400.  But those times are more like it!!!

I need to be careful, with Sunday's long run/ hike and today's double-duty my mileage is getting up there.  Next week needs to be a lighter week, maybe only 3 days of running.

Succckkkk.  I did a very poor job planning on my runs this week, or rather the random decision to go to Melaka tonight messed up an already poor job (was I really going to do a long run on a Friday night?  Doubtful).  Because I had a really early morning (90 minute commute to an 8:30am observation is just not my style) and a new evening trip all I had was 12:30pm.  That's right.  So I tried.  3.52 horrible miles, that's the same as 11 right?  Oh well, I was just saying I needed to not get my mileage too high, this is the perfect solution!  I will do a long run sometime during next week instead.  And will plan better.  It was about a thousand degrees out and my face was on fire by the end.  Fail.

Off to Melaka, Malaysia, and then the Jurong Lake 5k on Sunday!

PS - Just looked up the temperature.  89, feels like 100.  Yeah, I'm smart to run in that.
