3 miles around the neighborhood this morning with Cooper - 29 minutes, 6:56am.  BRRR!  Wore my ear wrap but it was COLD.

I have a race plan for the rest of the year!  That makes me happy.  I also ordered a replacement Garmin last night, YIPPEE.  Yay for my husband letting me. :-)  I made it 3 full weeks without it, but I miss it so much, just knowing exactly how far I've gone seems to be very important to me!  I also signed up for an Earth Day 10K in Tigard on Saturday.

Race Plan:

Saturday April 23, Tigard Earth Day 10K

Saturday May 7, Snoqualmie Half Marathon

Sunday May 22, Keizer Iris Festival Half Marathon

Saturday July 23, Singapore Marina Half Marathon

Friday-Saturday August 26-27, Hood to Coast

Saturday September 10, Portland Warrior Dash (jumping over burning fire!)

Fall - A Fall Marathon with Lisa?  Possibly Winthrop September 25th or Leavenworth October 15th, however I just don't know if I have the motivation or the desire to be so injury-prone this year.  Maybe another half marathon instead.  Didn't see a triathlon on there?  Yeah, I'm a triathlon loser.

Nice race schedule. You're going to Singapore? Wow! Hey, I have a niece named Nicole. When she was littler I used to sing her this song - Nicole, Nicole, she fell in a hole...

I hope you don't fall in a hole.

I like your race schedule. I wanted to run a race in Hawaii. But I think I will just settle for running at all while I"m there and then printing my garmin map from it. Is that nerdy? LOL

Where did you buy your vibrams? do you like them? and did you buy the size shoe you would normally buy? I just wonder b/c I have to go to Chicago to try any on (LRS here doesn'thave them) so I wondered how true to reg sizes they are.

Ape - from what I hear they make your feet swell, so you might go up a size.

April - When are you going to Hawaii? Which island? I LOVE LOVE LOVE Hawaii. Soooo much. Take me with you!

I got my vibrams at REI, I had to go to the big one so I could try them on. I got a size 41 (though I wear a 42 in my bike shoes and that's the size I got at first). Those are the only two shoes I have in this weird sizing so I don't know what is really normal for me, but I normally wear a size 10 running shoe or 9.5 dress shoe. Are you getting some??

Burt I hope you aren't talking to me b/c I hate that.

Nicole--Staying at Maui and thinking about hoping over to Oahu (gotta find decent airline tickets)

I wear a size 10 in most shoes but bought a 10.5 in my last pair and my toes feel better (no toe tenderness after long runs)

I would love to get some but am nervous b/c it is cold or wet much of the time here. I was looking online and they have mulit sport ones that include running. What is the difference between that and ons that just say rnning? Is this a commericial thing to get you to buy the more expensive ones? Just curious.

I don't know what the difference between the kinds are - I have the Bikila which is the "running kind", but I'm not exactly sure why? I know it has a strap and some of them don't have a strap and I think that probably helps it stay in place better. I think it also may have a tiny bit more cushioning or something? You probably want a size 42 then. They aren't very good for cold/wet, it is also wet here much of the time and that is annoying, I found going without the socks helps my feet feel less wet, but if it was freezing cold too I don't think I would wear them.

LOL! Just feeling you out April. Seeing what I can get away with. Now I know. It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission.
