Pretty lazy all day today, with a bit of working, a bit of napping, and a bit of football-watching.  Finally dragged myself out the door at 4pm promising myself I could just do 1 lap (1.5 miles) and stop if I wanted.  But then the mind games took over, and I "just one more lapped" myself through 8 laps!  Oh mind games, how I love thee.  Leg felt pretty good!  Just some tiny ankle twinges that would only last a few minutes.  I felt really tired in the 10th mile.  Absolutely perfect weather, sunny, perfect temps, and an amazing book: A Dog's Purpose - READ IT!

You talked yourself into 12 miles from 1.5 miles? Oh my gosh Nicole. LOL!

Can you teach us your Jedi mind games?

From nicole on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 13:48:40 from 128.208.244.70

I will hold a training to teach everyone. :-) The key is going into a run having NO IDEA how many miles you're going to run (and plenty of free time), which I think is against most common-sense running philosophies!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 14:02:34 from 24.18.125.122

I have the NO IDEA thing down as I'm generally clueless about most everything. The free time thing is going to be difficult for me to overcome though. I was hoping it would have more to do with visualizing fro-yo at the finish line.

You run a ridiculous number of miles every day so you're the last person who needs Jedi mind tricks!

So I am un-invited to the training? That's OK, maybe Burt will teach me your ways when he masters them.

I haven't even mastered how to tie my own shoes.

I want to join this class! I thought I was cool when I went over half a mile! I have so much to learn!
